Taman Nasional Tanjung Puting

disini tempat bermain Orang Utan, hewan yang katanya hanya terdapat
satu-satunya di Indonesia, dan untuk di kalimantan, Taman Nasional
Tanjung Puting menjadi tempat teraman bagi satwa ini, selain itu ada
ratusan jenis burung dan juga bisa nengok Gibon, monyet, Buaya di
sepanjang sungai sekonyer.
punya luas hampir 415.000 ha Taman Nasional Tanjung Puting ada karena
adanya orangutan Kalimantan (Pongo pygmeus) dan bekantan (Nasalis
Larvatus) yang merupakan jenis langka dan dilindungi. Perlindungan
terhadap dua jenis satwa tersebut di kawasan ini telah dilakukan sejak
jaman kolonial Belanda sekitar tahun 1936/1937.
