Here you can experience the real adventure crossing Borneo Island from West to East. It is a long exciting journey between roads, rugged lands, woods and river streams combining with cultural life of the most traditional Dayak Tribes.

You will pass through the jungle of Borneo (Kalimantan) on foot, cross the rivers with powerful stream and trekking along forest. You must have a good level of fitness and adventurous spirit to deal with nature, stay in a challenging field with basic accommodation and traditional way of living. You will get in touch with a unique life on the house boats; the trekking is rough and often soaked. It is the way you value the primary jungle of Borneo and the most traditional Dayak Tribes communities as well as the wildlife. and the unique of two famous rivers in Indonesia.

aCross Borneo is an extreme jungle expedition in the tropical rainforest of Borneo. This expedition is a real jungle trekking that follows a historical expedition route of a Dutch botanist, DR. Anton W. Niewenhius in 1894 who crossed the jungle border of West and East Kalimantan (Borneo). DAY 01 : AIRPORT – JAKARTA

Upon arrival at Jakarta Airport, our team will pick u and transfer to Hotel close from Airport, overnight in Hotel.

DAY 02-03 : JAKARTA – PONTIANAK – PUTUSSIBAU

Airport transfer for flight to Pontianak City then using small airline by Fokker from Pontianak t we will fly about one hours to Putussibau city. Check in to the hotel and explore the town (Free program) –D

(note: this detail will be change following flight schedule from Pontianak to Putusibau also will be + 1 days in Pontianak or Putusibau, if no flight on Day 02 we will using public bus from Pontianak to Putusibau via Sintang will be take 12 hours at Day 03)

DAY 04 : PUTUSSIBAU – NANGA BUNGAN VILLAGE -by Boat

The trip starts from a boat station by traditional wooden longboat to reach Na. Bungan village. Along the way you will notice some longhouses, local fruit garden, rice field and rapids. Get your lunch on a sandy-rocky beach. In the Afternoon you will arrive in Na. Bungan village. Overnight at the local house. (Full boards)

DAY 05 :NANGA BUNGAN VILLAGE – TANJUNG LOKANG VILLAGE

Again in the traditional wooden longboat you will attack some big rapids and sometime pulling your boat to get Tanjung Lokang the last village. Check into the local lodge. (Full boards)

DAY 06: TANJUNG LOKANG – DATA OPET

From the village, the traditional wooden longboat will take you to the Jungle by following a shallow river and pass some rapids. In the jungle your local guide will construct your simple jungle camp. (Full boards)

DAY 07: DATA OPET – BORAKAN

As breakfast is over, the trekking start by following a path, some time you have to cross the river. Lunch will be cooked and served on the way near the river (Full boards)

DAY 08: BORAKAN – LEA RIVER MOUTH

Trekking here is never boring, there is always new development, estimating distance, location, progress the road to follow. On the trekking, the guide might introduce you to the skills of Dayak fishing and fire lighting sodden wood. The meals to be prepared, the night site to decide on (B,L,D).

DAY 09: LEA RIVER MOUTH – SAVANG RIVER

The trekking to be continue, while trekking you can feel the genuineness of Borneo’s rain forest, enjoy the clear water, and listen to the wild animal’s calls. Jungle camp will be constructed again (Full boards)

DAY 10: SAVANG RIVER – MULLER VALLEY

The trekking seemed to be heavier than before combination between dray and wet trekking.

DAY 11: MULLER VALLEY – OPAN TANAH

To day is heaviest hiking, attack the steep and slippery mountain of Muller to reach the border between West and East Kalimantan. This point is unique as all people who pass this area should leave their belonging to avoid attack of bad spirit. After lunch, the trekking continues to reach a point for jungle camp constructing. DAY 12: OPAN TANAH – BATU BAHAT

The journey will be continued through the tropical rain forest, a dip in the river, a rest to be taken and surrounding to be examined an investigation of just a few square metres will reveal something different of animals every time. (Full boards)

DAY 13: BATU BAHAT – MUARA HUVUNG

Today is the last trekking activity, after hour and hour you will reach Huvung River mouth. Here you wait your local longboat to take you to the village. As the longboat is delivered from the village, you have to wait and construct your jungle camp again. (Full boards)

DAY 14: MUARA HUVUNG – TIONG OHANG

Now time to head down the Mahakam river by traditional wooden longboat to find the village of Dayak Aoheng. Check in to the local house. (B, L, D)

DAY 15 TIONG OHANG – LONG BAGUN

Breakfast at the local house/ local inn, then another 8 – 10 hours sail by longboat to Long Bagun. Check in to local Inn. Free program (B, L, D)

DAY 16-17: LONG BAGUN – SAMARINDA

After breakfast, leave the village of Long Bagun by houseboat. Lunch and dinner provided at the houseboat. During the sailing trip, you can explore and learn the local way of live ‘ river side civilization’ which is much different from what we normally have in the dry land area. The rest of the day is free for your own activities, overnight in Hotel (B, L, D)

DAY 18: SAMARINDA – BALIKPAPAN – JAKARTA

Breakfast at hotel then in the appropriate time, drive to Balikpapan airport to flight back to Jakarta, transfer to Hotel close from Airport.
