Borneo has always had a special place in the imagination of western people. It is a land to adventure, covering an area about 747.000 sq km, and one of the largest tropical rainforest in the world. Some areas are highland and other is flat or low land which is flowed by tremendous rivers. The land inhabited by the famous Dayak tribes, known as the indigenous people of Borneo. The land provides many exotic flora and fauna, such as; wild orchid species, hardest rain forest wood ”iron wood”, proboscis monkey, orangutans, hornbill, kingfisher, and many more. Exploring the majestic of Borneo’s jungle and interacting with native people is truly exciting.Kahung Valley is part of Meratus mountain, it is good for anyone who loves travelling, started by cruising Riam Kanan lake with mountainous panorama to reach Belangian village. Then hiking the grass hills and cross villagers farm. Afterwards, you will enter tropical rainforest with plenty of huge trees and streams. By trekking here, you will enjoy the wonderful scenery of Meratus mountain, feel the amazing nature, and breathe the fresh air of Borneo forest

Dayak people from the overwhelming majority of the population of the hinterland live in long houses called Lamin. It is customary for one whole extended family or even one clan to settle one long house. Each family is given a separate compartment with the chief of the clan occupying the central chamber. The Dayak also known for their arts, beautiful clothes making and ornaments for their long houses.
You will see and found the culture of Dayak tribe who has a lot of sub ethnics with their own unique lives and varieties flora and fauna live including the famous fresh water dolphin, proboscis monkey, black orchid, etc
Tanjung Puting National Park is a home of more than just the great apes, other kinds of animals are really easy to find, such as;Orang utans, Bekantan, gibbons, big dragonflies, blue streak of kingfisher. The other interesting animals require patience including; proboscis monkey, crab eating macaques, small crocodiles, wild pig, deer, monitor lizards and hornbill, they show up occasionally.
The boating route to the national park is very memorable experience, leading alone the jet black, nipa palm fringed the Sekonyer river, while the black water rich of tannins organic acid and poor of oxygen reflects the sky and trees like a mirror. And Tanjung Putting National Park very popular with location for Orang Utans Rehabilitation and Research.

Orangutan is very strong animal with long arms, the adult male weight up to 1 kilogram. They can live up to 30 years old and start breeding between 7 and 10 years old, with 9 months gestation period as human. They are so close with human, you will see they are approaching you, to ask you to feed them, you can also walk hand in hand with them. They build their shelter every night, made of twigs and branches, and eating fruit, young plants, and insects. Now, their population is in critical situation, they can be found on Sumatera and Borneo islands only.

South Borneo is the only province in Kalimantan or Borneo that worth a visit for its own sake. It has an interesting floating market where people making transaction from boat to boat, and nearby of the river is a land that inhabited by monkeys and place of Chinese and Bugis origin to present flower as the presentation to have a success commerce and fortune. Traditional diamond mining on Cempaka village where people take out the materials on the ground then panning it on the pan of wood to find the diamonds. The other most interesting spot to visit is Loksado, place for exploring the rainforest and Dayak Meratus land, then having the bamboo rafting as the climax of the trip.

By Day Itinerary
Day 01: BALIKPAPAN – SAMARINDA – KOTA BANGUN
Meet at airport and directly transfer to Kota Bangun for overnight on lodge. (L, D)

Day 02: KOTA BANGUN – MANCONG – TANJUNG ISUY
After breakfast, we will cross the Jempang Lake where species of water bird flyover the area to catch fish and the Ohong River where proboscis monkey, monitor lizard, and other wildlife as it glides by, and then visiting Mancong village to explore the impressive longhouse and Dayak Benuaq life. Next, travel to Tanjung Isuy village for watching traditional Dayak dance in front of their longhouse. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight on lodge in Tanjung Isuy. (B, L, D)

Day 03: TANJUNG ISUY – MUARA MUNTAI – KOTA BANGUN – SAMARINDA
Proceed to Kota Bangun through Muara Muntai to explore daily life of Malay people. Afterwards, proceed to Samarinda by public land transportation for overnight on hotel. (B, L)

Day 04: SAMARINDA – MUARA KOMAM
After breakfast, we will drive to Muara Komam by public land transportation, overnight on simple inn. (B,L,D)

Day 05: MUARA KOMAM – BARARAWA – LOKSADO.
Proceed to visit a beautiful huge cave and then continue our trip to Bararawa swamp village for exploring water buffaloes and villagers’ daily lives. Next, we will travel to Nagara village for sighting traditional machete making, metal ware, and pottery home industries. Afterwards, transfer to Loksado for overnight on lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 06: RAINFOREST TREKKING
Proceed to explore jungle and Dayak land crossing shifting cultivation, cinnamon and rubber trees, waterfall, longhouses, hills, hanging and suspended bamboo bridges, rivers, primary and secondary rainforest. In the afternoon, we will back to the lodge through other trail with different beauties of nature. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight on lodge. (B,L,D)

Day 07: BAMBOO RAFTING – ARANIO
Exploring villagers set the bamboo raft then take an adventure trip of bamboo rafting crossing beautiful landscape of tropical rainforest along the riverside meanwhile our coach will be waiting on the downstream for driving to Aranio sub-district for overnight on lodge.(B,L,D)

Day 08: ARANIO – RIAM KANAN LAKE – BANJARMASIN
Transfer to Aranio small port for cruising up the Riam Kanan Lake to explore beautiful view of forests, mountainous swamp, birds, boat making, floating fishing ponds, etc. Next, proceed to Banjarmasin for taking an afternoon canal sightseeing. Afterwards, transfer to hotel for overnight. (B,L,D)

Day 09: FLOATING MARKET – SAMPIT
We will leave to floating market for exploring people trading boat to boat and return to hotel while sighting citizen activities on riverside. Next, we will drive to Sampit by public transportation for overnight on hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 10: SAMPIT – PANGKALAN BUN – TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK
Transfer to Kumai sub-district to start boating safari on Sekonyer River while sightseeing remarkable view of the river where some animals showing up to welcome visitors on their kingdom. The boat is a traditional wooden river boat about 6m by 2m with a roof which forms the upper deck where you can view the rainforest as it glides by. Overnight and dining on the boat, with facilities; thin mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled “mineral” water, mosquito net, kitchen, simple toilet available on boat besides the familiar – helpful guides and boatmen. (B, L, D)

Day 11: TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, we will cruise up the river for about 2 hours to reach Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rainforest. A stop will be made at Pondok Tanguy, the rehabilitation center for the new ex-captive orangutans. At Camp Leakey you will have opportunity to trek into the rainforest with your expert guide and the forest rangers to appreciate the flora as well as perhaps sighting wild orangutans, gibbons, macaques, and birds. Lunch will be provided on boat. Afternoon, we will visit the feeding station to see rehabilitate orangutans are given additional foods. We will then sail back down the river to overnight on the boat. Day12: TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK – PANGKALAN BUN – DEPARTURE
Free at your own leisure till the proper time for transferring to airport for next destination.(B,L,D).
