Mentawai Tribe Adventure – explore mentawai tribe and trekking

Mentawai Island is one part of Indonesia’s island that is still primitive. So you must be ready of these conditions, and your purpose of visiting, we strongly believed that is to know Mentawai’s nature and culture for a true experience of a simple and primitive culture

Before visiting Mentawai Island, it is advisable to take prophylactic doses of anti malaria medicine at least one week before departing for Mentawai, and should be continued up to two weeks after leaving.

Travelers are also advised to bring sufficient supplies of medicine (Antidiarhea and seasickness, cream anti mosquito, first aid and antibiotics if possible).

WARNING !
1. Don’t take Picture (Camera or Handycam) before you confirm with your guide or them.
2. We will not pay any post major (something happen by nature).
3. You must have time longer than your trip, cause, passanger ship will not sail if there sea storm, so that, we must wait it 1 or 2 days in Muara Siberut before back to Padang
4. You must keep your staff by your self

Trip Duration : 05 Days

DAY 1. PADANG – MENTAWAI (L.D)
Early morning on 06:00 am we will pick up you from your Hotel, meet and greets then proceed to the harbor and on 07:00 am the ferry will leaving to Mentawai archipelago we will sail by fast and modern boat, in the afternoon we will arrived at Mentawai Island and continue to MUNTEI small village and overnight here in small Uma Mentawaian house.
(we advise you to ask breakfast box from your Hotel and you can have breakfast on the ferry)

DAY 2.MENTAWAI PRIMITIF (B.L.D)
After breakfast we will sail on the river for 2 hour to Kesagu, (the gate of the jungle) from Kesagu we will walk in the muddy to Dorodog around 2 hours upon arrive at UMA you will be welcomed by Mentawaian tribe hospitality We will overnight here at UMA the Mentawaian traditional long house.

DAY 3. MENTAWAI PRIMITIF LIFE STYLE (B.L.D)
Today we will show you how the local people making “KABID” the traditional clothes (the loin cloth of the bark) and in the afternoon we do hunting around uma with local people
They will show us how to make poison then they do hunting with the arrow with poison-tipped, they hunt such as birds, monkeys, etc, (But this activities only to show you, their old culture, because many types of animals that have been protected by law so that the government asks them to stop hunting wild animals) In additional information, in the past time monkey is most valuable hunting result, so that if someone get monkey, he will beat the wood drum. Tung….tung….tung… to call other family for eating together, because eating that by himself  is taboo and at the same time the notification, is prohibit to which not member of family for not coming in that moment.

DAY 4. MENTAWAI PRIMITIF (B.L.D)
The last day in the jungle with Mentawaian Primitif tribes during the day we’re back to Muntei village, after breakfast you will be taken to the small river and they will show us how they are looking for small fish in the river for food for their families, after that we will back to UMA and after lunch it was time to say goodbye to family because we are going back to Muntei and stay there for overnight.

DAY 5. MENTAWAI – PADANG (B.L)
Free and leisure until to the time leaving for Padang, upon arrival at Padang we will transfer you to your Hotel in Padang

Note:
The ferry leaving from Padang to Mentawai on Tuesday and Saturday
the program start on Tuesday will be back to Padang on Saturday if leaving on Saturday will be back on Tuesday
